Sampler Thread overdyed floss from The Gentle Art

Everyone is designing with Sampler Thread. They're wonderfully fun to work with -- the thread is really six-stranded floss just like you've used for years. But The Gentle Art overdyes the floss, making it wonderfully different. The final product is a gently shaded skein of floss.

To stitch with it, complete one cross stitch (or other stitch) at a time in horizontal rows. Your pattern will take on a life of its own as it undulates in beautiful hues. There are 5 yards for each skein. Make sure you purchase enough thread to finish your project; every batch is different. (Although I've used several different skeins on the same project and found it just adds to the "charm.")

The directions for handling the threads, which come with each skein, read: "Because our fibers are hand dyed, we cannot absolutely guarantee color fastness. We, therefore, recommend the following procedure before you start to stitch your piece: wash fabric in cool water and press dry with a warm iron (wool setting) between two white terry towels. Mount your fabric on stretcher bars or on a scroll frame to work, taking care to keep your piece clean until completed. When finished, press with a dry iron if needed."

Price per five-yard skein: $2.10. I stock every color manufactured by The Gentle Art.

When ordering remember to tell me the color and quantity of each. In parentheses after each color is an approximate DMC equivalent.
