Fabric

Remember when you're ordering fabric to include an allowance of at least three inches on every side. I recommend four if you plan on matting your piece. So if you had a piece with a finished size of 10 by 12, and you were planning on matting it, you should order a 18 by 20 piece of fabric. If you're interested in a fat half or quarter of fabric, indicate that. Usually a fat quarter is 18 by 27 1/2 (if the fabric is 55 inches wide). A fat half is 36 by 27 1/2 (if the fabric is 55 inches wide). Ask me if you need help! Beside some fabric colors, you'll see a number -- that's its DMC floss color equivalent.

Silk Gauze: 40 and 32 ct. off-white. Use this elegant, durable fabric for fabulous results. Stitch over one with the ease of stitching on linen. Since this fabric seems to be "all holes," it's easier to stitch on than you might think. You can use flosses or silks to create masterpieces. Backstitch on it too! 10 cents per square inch plus $1. Inquire for larger amounts.

Brittney (a.k.a. Lugana) by Zweigart 25, 28 and 32 count. 52% cotton, 48% rayon. 55" wide. $46/yard, $11.50/fat quarter, $23/fat half, or 4 cents per square inch. (Brittney is also known as "Lugana.")

Heatherfield A wonderfully fun fabric to work with. Each fabric is 100% polyacrylic, and is flecked with complimentary colors to give it a rustic home-spun look. 52 inches wide. $48 a yard, $12.00/fat quarter, $24.00/fat half or 5 cents per square inch.

    Tula: 60% Rayon/40% cotton, very soft 10 count fabric, beautiful colors. $12.50/quarter, $25.00/half, $50/whole yard, 5 cents/square inch

    Jobelan A luxurious fabric with a wonderful sheen. 51 percent cotton/49 percent polyester. $40 a yard, $10/fat quarter, $20/fat half, or 4 cents per square inch.

    Hand Dyed Jobelan available in quarters, halves or whole yards only (no custom cuts). $15.50/quarter, $31/half, $62/whole

    Banding: I can order most kinds of banding easily. If you are looking for a particular count and/or width of banding, let me know. The minimum order is one yard.

    Aida: I do stock some Aidas, and can order others. Minimum order for my customers is 1/2 yard, which generally costs $16.00 (my minimum order with my distributors is 1 yard.) I don't sell a lot of Aida, but I am most happy to get it in for you, if it's not already in stock.
