R&R Reproduction Fabric Care:
Storage -- never store R&R fabrics in a ziploc type plastic bag. Color changes from some sort of chemical reaction can take place with plastic and dye materials used. (Theresa's tip: hang pieces of fabric from hangers with safety pins and hang in a craft closet!)
Another plastic problem that can occur -- Q-Snaps that are left on a project can cause a "framed" effect. Some sort of chemical reaction takes place between the plastic and chemicals used for dyeing. A project kept on a Q-Snap will trap humidity in the air and cause discoloration. A Q-Snap is safe to use, but you should take it off when you're not stitching.
Round Fiber dye and Full Fiber dye: A round fiber dye is a quick dip and the dye takes on the surface only, and so would not be a good candidate for pulled or cut work (because the dye does not go through). These are generally the lightest colors. A Full Fiber dye is a longer dipping process that coats all fibers through and through. You can use these for cut and pulled work (this applies to all coffee dyes, and medium and dark colors.
If you'd like to see samples of the R&R colors, you can see them online at the Norden Crafts website at www.nordencrafts.com. They are my distributor for the R&R fabrics.
Sometimes colors are out of stock at the distributor, and sometimes those backorders can be quite a while in coming in (even several months). If a fabric is backordered, and I think it will be a while until it comes in, I will let you know.
