GO SEE WHAT'S NEW...

February's Angel: (NOTE: I am ALMOST done with the March angel and will be posting a picture in the next few days.) Each angel chart is $6.00, but if you want, you can get them kitted with just the threads you need, a special cut of fabric, and the button pack/pins for $30.00 (yes, all kits this year will be $30.00). These are available monthly as kits -- only from me! But your local shop can order the graphs through their distributors. Sign up to get all 12, and your 12th month is free, or just pick your favorites. The squares end up 6-by-6 inches each, and come with finishing instructions.

Tate's Stocking: (by Raise the Roof Designs, aka ME!) This turned out so cute for my nephew Tate. It was fun to stitch on the 20 count linen by Weeks Dye Works in over-dyed #5 Perle Cottons. But this would also be adorable stitched SMALL (think over-one) and turned into an ornament. It's got a few sleigh bell buttons up at the top by Just Another Button Co. I've had lots of questions, and YES, I will be doing more stockings. Chart is $9.00.

Check out my Shakespeare's Peddler Facebook page. If you're on Facebook, simply type Shakespeare's Peddler in your search window, and I should pop up. You can join the page to keep up on what's going on around here, see my reproductions, antique samplers and original designs, and hear about what the cat dragged in. Not on Facebook? Catch me on my Blog at www.shakespearespeddler.blogspot.com.

The Free Chart of the Month for the next six months is the Elizabeth Milner 1848 Sampler that I own! I am reproducing it in six parts and handing those pieces out from now until June with each order. You must order something once a month to collect all six parts. Then in a year's time, I will be releasing this graph to shops and my distributors. I am not showing a picture of the entire sampler now...you can see just part of it. I will tell you there are owls and squirrels and strawberries below, and a verse about how women should be modest...ha! Here are the supplies you'll need to complete the sampler, which is 175 by 350 stitches:

  • 1/4 yard of 32, 36 or 40 count Navy Bean Linen - Lakeside Linens $26 ($28 for 40 count)
  • OR 1/2 yard 28 count Navy Bean Linen - Lakeside Linens ($52.00)
  • Gloriana Silks Olive Grove, Hazelnut, Honey Bronze, Fawn $7.50 each
  • Silk 'n' Colours Bronze Age Green $7.50

One skein of each silk will be enough to stitch on the finer counts; the original sampler was stitched on a 42-ish count linen. The only specialty stitches are some eyelets for some of the alphabets (but you could stitch those in cross stitch.) I thought this would be a fun way to give you guys something from me to you...and you can have fun recreating an antique. You do not have to buy the supplies for the sampler to get the graphs for free, but you must purchase something each month to collect the parts.

Did you miss a month? No worries! For a $2.00 donation to our local animal shelter (I will add it to your bill), I will send you the month that you missed with any order.

Ann Dale 1827: Big & Beautiful: This chart continues to sell like bananas...hotcakes...what-have-you. The chart is $30.00, and the silks set is $159.80. If you want to stitch it on 40 or 36 count Pear Linen (Lakeside Linens) as recommended, you can fit the piece on a fat half (the stitch count is 402 by 531.) The Pear linen is in stock. It's huge...monstrous...immense...and so gorgeous. If you finish this one, you definitely have bragging rights! I have already heard from people who are about half-done with this one!

Priscilla Griffiths' Sampler was stitched in 1828 on 50/54 unevenweave linen. The graph is in the newest issue of Sampler & Antique Needlework Quarterly ($6.99). But I was thinking this chart was so pretty and deserved more than simple DMC floss...so I did a conversion to Needlepoint Silks! The conversion comes with 33 skeins of silks and is $110.00 (I gave a little discount.) The pattern suggests stitching this on 27 count Northern Cross linen over-one, but I think I'd stitch it on a finer linen over-two...something tea- or coffee-dyed would be lovely!

The Kit of the Month Sergei by Plum Street Samplers. I love this little red bird! We get cardinals outside our kitchen window a good chunk of the year, and they so enjoy the black sunflower seeds I put out for them. This kit comes with 32, 36 OR 40 count Buttercream linen by Lakeside Linens (your choice), the over-dyed cottons and silk and the graph. Just $36.50 this month. The frames are available for $65.00.

The Fabric of the Month is brand new by Silkweaver...Cinnamon Twist! Sign up now for the Fabric of the Month Club -- they'll all be by Silkweaver this year, and if you get them every month, your 12th month is FREE! Quarter yard cuts are $21.00 -- half yards are $42.00. You do not have to be in the club to get the colors you like...you just won't get a free piece at the end, darn it.
