October 2004: A few changes at the shop

A few days late, for good reason, this month. Along with the help of my mom and dad, my in-laws, my aunt and her family, and my husband, everything is moved from my old shop space into my new space. Where did all of this STUFF come from? I'm most of the way there, in terms of getting things put back together, and am now entering the "I wonder where THAT is" phase of moving.

I'm continuing to make changes here at the shop. I have a DSL line now, for super-fast Internet, and now my phone line will be free for phone calls all of the time. And once I get it figured out, calls will be forwarded to my cell phone, so you can call in the evenings when I'm at home. I can take your orders there (give me a few more days, though.)

My hours are also changing. I will no longer have regular Saturday hours, since I've decided I don't like getting only one day with my family each weekend, instead of two. I will be open by appointment on Saturday, or you can call to place your orders and catch me on my cell. I will have an Open House the 15th of each month from 6-7:30 as well. My new shop address is below, but my phone and Internet information remain the same.

And now since this newsletter is already several days late, I'm wondering what wisdom I can impart to finish up my newsletter. September was tricky. I had to move out of my wonderful shop. In 2002, we refinished the hardwood floors ourselves, painted walls, put in floor boards...I spent 2 1/2 years there, and met a lot of great local customers who will hopefully follow me to this new location. So, I guess I'd say this: When life hands you lemons, make lemonade (even though you might really want to chuck a lemon at someone!)
